FUEL EVAPORATION PREVENTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To improve both the catching ability for evaporated fuel and the fuel evaporation preventing effect by piling absorbers for trapping evaporated fuel, of both organic high polymer material which is solved into evaporated fuel or swells therewith and activated carbon in this order. CONSTITUTION:Gasoline steam evaporated inside a carburetor float chamber 81 or a fuel tank 82 is carried into a canister 1 by a plurality of introduction pipes 13 and 14. Some of the gasoline steam is first exposed to organic high polymer material 20 inside a primary suction chamber 2 to be absorbed. The remaining gasoline steam which has not absorbed is then absorbed by activated carbon 30 inside a secondary suction chamber 3. On the other hand air is fed from a purge air pipe 13 and exhaust gas is discharged from a purging pipe 18 into a purge port 85, whereby refreshing the absorbers 20 and 30. As a result the trapping ability for evaporated fuel may be improved.
