PURPOSE:To obtain the phase difference detecting device which can performs correlation arithmetic operation for phase difference detection at a high speed with high accuracy by performing the correlation arithmetic operation with an analog signal which is generated by photoelectric conversion as it is and converting the correlation value of the arithmetic result into an analog signal. CONSTITUTION:A reference image sensor 13 and a reference image sensor 14 photodetect a couple of optical images of a subject and convert them photoelectrically to output an analog electric signal R(t) generated by the photoelectric conversion corresponding to one optical image and an analog electric signal B(t) corresponding to the other optical image in order without destruction so that they are made out of phase with each other by a specific period. The couple of analog signals are led to an analog correlation computing element 15 to perform analog correlation arithmetic, and the correlation value which is the arithmetic result is converted by an A/D converter 16 into a digital signal. The arithmetic processing is therefore speeded up and no round error is generated unlike a case where digital correlation arithmetic is performed after conversion into digital signals, so the high-accuracy arithmetic result is obtained. |
