摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce a smear signal for giving disturbance to an image signal by providing two pieces of solid-state image pickup elements and constituting the respective solid-state image pickup elements so that the image signal + the smear signal and the smear signal can be obtained alternately at every field. CONSTITUTION:A solid-state image pickup element 3b is driven by a driving signal DRV2, and the movement of a signal charge to a vertical transfer register 33 from a photoelectric converting part 31 is executed so as to become alternate with a solid-state image pickup element 3a at every field. Accordingly, as for its read-out signal SIG2, when the solid-state image pickup element 3a is an image signal + a smear signal, the smear signal is obtained, and when said element is the smear signal, the image signal + the smear signal are obtained. In this state, to each solid-state image pickup element 3a, 3b, the same optical image which passes through a lens 1 and has brought a light beam to separation into two spectral components by a 2-spectral prism 2 is projected. The signal charge obtained in suck a way is brought to sample holding by each S/H circuit 6a, 6b, the smear signal is erased by a subtracter 7 and only the image signal is left.
