PURPOSE:To improve the dimensional stability of the sensitive material by specifying the drying condition of a hydrophilic colloid layer, and the thermal processing and the packing conditions of a sensitive material, respectively. CONSTITUTION:When the coating solution of the hydrophilic colloid layer applied on a supporting body composed of polyester is dried, less than 300wt.% of a moisture on the dry basis of the amount of a binder contd. in the whole layer mounted on the supporting body is dried in a relative humidity of <=50%. For example, when the colloid layer contains >=300wt.% moisture, the drying condition after the moisture content of the colloid layer becomes less than 300wt.%, is specified as mentioned above. Next, the obtd. sensitive material is thermally processed at a temp. of >=30 deg.C in an atmosphere of <=1% of absolute humidity, and then is preserved at the atmosphere of <=1% of the absolute humidity. For example, the sensitive material thermally processed, is allowed to stand at 25 deg.C for a prescribed time in the atmosphere of RH of 40% (the absolute humidity of about 0.79%) and then sealed and packed, and the absolute humidity within a packing bag, is maintained in the conditions mentioned above. |
