PURPOSE:To obtain a gasket outstanding in sealability and stress relaxation nature, suitable as a cylinder head gasket, by application, through a direct contact bonding of a composition comprising a specific non-asbestos-based inorganic fiber, a rubber and a filler in specified proportion. CONSTITUTION:A composition comprising (A) 5-50wt.% of a non-asbestos-based inorganic fiber with a fineness of <=30mum and aspect ratio of 5-1,000 (e.g., alumina-silicate fiber, ceramic fiber, glass fiber, carbon fiber, metallic fiber), (B) 5-20wt.% of a rubber as the binder (e.g., natural rubber, styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber, acrylic rubber, silicone rubber, fluororubber), and (C) 20-80wt.% of a filler (e.g., clay, talc, calcium carbonate, silica, mica, barium sulfate, carbon black, alumina) is applied through a direct contact bonding process to form a layer of the composition on the hook surface of a metal plate with hook. |
