PURPOSE:To increase the superconduction transition temp. of Li-Ti-O oxide and to extend the application in the field of a superconducting element, etc., by substituting a bivalent metal for part of Li in the oxide and bivalent Cu for part of Ti. CONSTITUTION:This oxide superconducting material has a compsn. represented by a chemical formula LixMy(Tiz.Cuu)Ov (where x<1.2, y<=1.2, x+y=0.8-1.2, z<2.2, u<=2.2, z+u=1.8-2.2, v=2.2-5.6, M is a bivalent metal, Ti is Ti<3+> and/or Ti<4+> and Cu is Cu<2+>). It is formed by substituting M for part of Li in cubic spinel type Li-Ti-O oxide represented by a formula Li1+a(Ti2-a)O4 (where a=-0.2-+0.2) and bivalent Cu for part of Ti and ensures stable transition to superconductivity at a high temp. |
