PURPOSE:To improve sharpness and sensitivity by incorporating a yellow coupler for photographs into the above material. CONSTITUTION:This material contains at least one kind of the coupler for photographs expressed by the formula (I). In the formula I, R1, R2 denote an arom. group, heterocyclic group, etc.; R3 denotes a halogen atom or alkoxy group; R4 denotes a diffusion resistant group; X1, X2 denote a coupling elimination group. The compd. expressed by the formula I is usable for an arbitrary layer such as high-sensitivity layer or low-sensitivity layer and is also usable for a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer or the adjacent layer thereof. The yellow coupler can, therefore, be incorporated into the material with the high reactivity and the high color formation density per unit weight and at a low production cost. The image having the high sensitivity and excellent sharpness is thereby obtd. |
