PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of a photoconductive body from transferring by projecting light to parts of the photoconductive body not facing a transfer paper, and eliminating the electric charge due to electrostatic charge of the photoconductive body after transferring. CONSTITUTION:At a time of transferring, the surface of a transfer paper 84 is charged electrostatically from the back side of the transfer paper 84 by an electrostatic charge means for transferring, and an image is transferred by charged pigment grains on the photoconductive body attaching to the surface of the transfer paper. At this time, the surface of the photoconductive body 54 is charged electrostatically by the electrifying device for transferring 74 on the parts other than that which is facing the transfer paper. However, the electric charge from this electrostatic charge is eliminated from the surface of the photoconductive body by the irradiating means 96, acting by a control means, which projects light. The projecting range of the irradiating means to the photoconductive body is determined based on a detection result of a detecting means 102, and light is projected to the parts other than that which is facing the transfer paper and destaticized. Thus the surface of the photoconductive body can be prevented from deteriorating. |
