PURPOSE:To control recording density with sufficiently high accuracy according to a small-scale data table, by mounting a correction table wherein proper pulse width data obtained by multiplying reference pulse width data by a correction factor is set at every grade of an average resistance value. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head of an average resistance value R1 is set to a standard and the proper pulse width Pw1 thereof is tabulated using base temp. and a line interval as parameters to set a reference table T1. Further, an average resistance value is graded, for example, into 16 stages to calculate a correction factor Ai with respect to each grade and a correction pulse width Pwi obtained by multiplying the reference pulse width Pw1 by the correction factor Ai is tabulated to set a correction table T2. The reference table T1 and the correction table T2 are stored in an ROM 10 and a processor 11 subtracts the reference table T1 from a base temp. signal Tb and a line interval Il at every recording cycle to read the reference data Pw1 and subsequently subtracts the correction table T2 from the reference data Pw1 and a grade signal (i) to take out the pulse width data Pwi and applies said data Pwi to a head driving part 13 to drive the thermal head 12 on the basis of the pulse width Pwi. |
