PURPOSE:To always extract correct formant loci by tracing points which are large in formant evaluating value by a dynamic programming method and forming formant frequency loci of respective dimensions. CONSTITUTION:A means 9 which constitutes an (n+1)-dimensional hyper-cube by expanding each time series of the spectral envelope of continuous voices on an n-dimensional hyper-plane and arranging them in the direction of the time base, and a means 10 which finds the formant value of the spectral value at each point on the hyper-plane by using the peaking property of the spectrum, extent of presence of each formant, and positional relation of each formant, are provided. Then points at which formant evaluating values of the spectral values found on the hyper-planes constituting the hyper-cube are traced by a dynamic programming method and the obtained frequency locus of each dimension is used as the formant frequency locus of each dimension. Therefore, accurate formant loci can be found stably with a realizable calculating quantity. |
