<p>PURPOSE:To conduct the measurement of dimensions of a channel box and the fitting thereof to a fresh fuel efficiently in the same place, by providing a frame so that it can be moved up and down along a rail on a pool wall, and by providing a measurer of dimensions of the box on the frame. CONSTITUTION:A frame 26 which can be loaded with a fuel assembly is provided so that it can be moved up and down along a rail 25 provided on a pool wall 15a, while measurers 29 of the shape and dimensions of a channel box 7 are provided on the lateral wall of the frame. In this constitution, the fuel assembly after the end of one bundle life is mounted on the frame 26 and the dimensions of the box are measured by the measurers 29. The box determined to be reusable is once moved to a fuel storage rack and then a fresh fuel is mounted on the frame. Thereafter the box to be reused is held by a handling implement 30 and fitted to the fresh fuel. According to this constitution, the measurement of dimensions and the fitting can be conducted efficiently in the same place.</p> |
