PURPOSE:To prevent the malfunction of an AF system caused by infrared light beams from a remote control device by automatically stopping an AF action or forcibly moving it to a specially set state while receiving an infrared light beam signal from the remocon. CONSTITUTION:Remote control can be performed by a remote control device 1 using the infrared light beams. A means 6 is provided which outputs a controlling signal C2 when the infrared light beam signal is made incident on a light receiving means 2 receiving the infrared light beam signal given by the device 1. A means 19 is provided which stops the action of an automatic focus adjusting device (AF) in response to the controlling signal C2. While the infrared light beam signal from the device 1 is received, the focusing state of a photographing lens 18 is held in a state just before the infrared light beam signal is received and it resumes the ordinary AF action after a signal from the device 1 is stopped. Thus, the malfunction of an AF block caused by the infrared light beam from the device 1 can be prevented beforehand. |
