<p>A tape cassette (10) is provided which has a rigid tape guide (50) which provides for guiding the tape (20) perpendicularly across the magnetic head of a tape machine. The cassette (10) includes a casing body (12) and cover (14) with the tape guide (50) mounted between. The tape guide (50) is of unitary construction and includes a generally horizontally-extending, flat top section (52) and a generally horizontally-extending, flat bottom section (54) connected by a generally vertically extending support section (56). The tape guide (50) includes a first roller support mount (58) on one end and a second roller support mount (60) on the other end. Each roller support mount (58, 60) includes both a pin (66, 68) for mounting a roller (70, 72) and a curved reinforcing member (62, 64) extending vertically therefrom. Both the pin (66, 68) and reinforcing member (62, 64) are formed integrally with the support mount (58, 60). A pair of guide structures (78, 80) extends horizontally away from the vertical section (56) where each such guide structure (78, 80) has a vertically-extending tape guide surface (114, 112).</p> |
