The spectacle frame (1) has a vertical tie slot (4,5) between the lenses. Notches (7) are formed in a series on either side of the slot. The nose bridge (10) is fixed to a carrier (8,9) which slides in the tee slot. A removable locating stirrup (14) fits onto the face of the carrier and the lateral spigots (16) which engage in the notches (7). A cover plate (17) fits over the assembly. ADVANTAGE - The height of the spectacles relative to the bridge of the nose is adjustable.
