Particulate additives may be entrained in the gas stream. The apparatus for carrying out the method comprises a teeming nozzle 1 (Fig. 1), in the bottom of a ladle, having an enlarged cylindrical portion nearer the outlet, than the inlet, end thereof and a single bore for the injection of oxygen, through the nozzle, perpendicular and radial or tangential to the passageway therein extending into the enlarged cylindrical region, the oxygen being supplied from conduit 5.</p> |
