Metallised plastic mouldings

Mouldings of chlorosulphonated polyethylene or a mixture of 1 to 40 wt. % chlorosulphonated polyethylene and 60-99 wt. % of another synthetic material which may opt. be metallisable per se, are metallised by deposition of a metallic conducting layer followed by galvanisation. The mixture may be PVC and chlorosulphonated polyethylene (Cl = 34.5%, S = 0.9%). Use of chlorosulphonated polyethylene give metal coating having excellent adhesion to the substrate.
