摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To accurately observe the point of impact by always acquiring ade quate number of deviation data by illuminating a radio wave beam for the impact point observation separate from the radio wave beam for tracking the target. CONSTITUTION:Up until the start of firing, the radio wave beam is switched to be illuminated from a phased array antenna 3 for tracking the target or searching other targets or tracking thereof. Upon pressing the firing switch 11, the trajectory data are fetched from the fire computation section 9 to a memory unit 12. While the shell fired is travelling over a certain distance, the radio wave beam illuminates the shell via a timing generator 13, a beam steering switch 14, etc., based on the data from the memory unit 12 at a required rate. The angle of illumination is successively changed at a time inter val which is determined in advance in accordance with the trajectory, and the angle of the shell as viewed from the antenna 3 is computed from the angle error signal based on said illumination angle and the radar echo to determine the its deviation from the target tracking data. The error of the impact point is then indicated on the display 20 via a mean value circuit 19. This way, the shell landing position can be observed highly accurately.</p>
