Movement is transmitted from point (1) at the output from the gearbox. The movement required for traction is transmitted to a free wheel (2) connected to a shaft (3) which transfers the rotation to a pinion (8) at one end. The movement reaches a special pinion (9) which drives a transverse shaft (10) which transmits the rotation to a pinion (11) at one of its ends. From this point, it drives the front wheel by a large chain held in position by three small pulleys (17,18,22) attached to compasses. A toothed wheel (25) prevents the wheel from locking. ADVANTAGE - Provides improved adherence and precision on heavy, sandy and rough ground and during high speed cornering.
