<p>A pressure pipe for cooling hot metal rod moving in the direction of its length comprises a structure defining a first passage section followed by a second passage section. In the first section, water is applied to the rod at high dynamic pressure and, at the second section, part of the dynamic pressure is replaced by an increase in static pressure and guide means prevent the rod from cobbling in the second passage section.</p> |
