<p>Composite multi jaw forging tool comprises a minimum of three forging jaws surrounding the workpiece and reducing its cross section by lateral pressure arranged so that the frontal face of each jaw runs partially along a side face of one adjoining jaw, the gap between the two being a minimum and uniform. The lengths of the working faces of the jaws are pref. 0.75-1.5 times the thickness of the forged workpiece. Also extension pieces are pref. fitted to the sides of the jaws to form a tapered guide-in for the workpieces.</p> |
