<p>A sailing vessel is provided with a generally triangular sail (4) attached to a luff spar (3), the luff spar being supported (i) at or adjacent its lower end by support means (2) permitting transverse movement of the lower end of the spar across the vessel in the forward part thereof; and (ii) at a point above its lower end by pivot means (5) the pivot being supported on a support structure fixed to the hull of the vessel.</p> |
