The dispenser for liquids or powders e.g. animal feedstuffs has a storage vessel which may comprise two separate vessels (6a,6b) containing different materials which are mixed at the point of usage. The dispenser is mounted in the neck of the vesels to form a vertical tube (200a,200b). In the normal position, the tube is closed by a plug which forms part of the lid (400). When the complete assembly is inverted, the tube is open and the contents of the containers flow into chambers (Aa,Ab). The sleeves then slide down on to the collar around the tubes. When the complte assembly is returned to its normal position the contents of chambers descend into the lower chambers (Ba,Bb), displacing any material already in those chambers through an outlet orifice and discharge spout to the point of use. ADVANTAGE - The dispenser allows prescribed doses of liquids or powders to be discharged while at the same time preventing any direct contact between the exterior and the storage vessel contents.
