Particles are coated in material with a relatively low m.pt. by atomising the molten material in an inert atmos. to form a mist, passing the particles through the mist, collecting the particles after allowing the material coating them to solidify in contact with ambient atmosphere, and separately collecting surplus molten material. A device for coating particles with low m.pt. material is also claimed. USE/ADVANTAGE - For coating catalyst in opt. doped microcrystalline wax, fat in wax, or coal in wax. The coating is homogeneous and of constant thickness.
