The handle (1) is fixed to the cooking utensil (2) by a metallic stud (3) which is fixed to the utensil's wall (4). A metallic base (5) rests against the wall and surrounds the stud. The end of the handle (6) is held in the base and has a hole (7) in which the stud is engaged. The base has a bottom part (8) whose outer surface (8a) is shaped to fit the utensil's outer wall. The study which is square in section, passes through a hole (9) in the base, whose section is complementary, with slight play, to that of the stud.
