Throttle valve for a closed flow channel

A throttle valve for a closed flow channel is to be recessed completely flush into the inner wall of the flow channel when open in order thereby to avoid flow resistance arising from the throttle valve. In order to be able to achieve complete flush recessing of the throttle valve not only in flat inner walls of flow channels but also in the case of curved inner walls of flow channels, the surface exposed to the flow in the open condition of the throttle valve is matched to the curvature of the inner wall of the channel. In the case of a cylindrical flow channel, the relevant surface of the throttle valve is thus likewise of cylindrical design. To ensure the minimum space requirement for the throttle valve in the wall of the flow channel, the throttle valve is composed of a completely recessable supporting beam and a shield attached to it and forming the curved surface.
