PURPOSE:To improve the measurement accuracy by injecting liquid into a gap part first and then finding an ultrasonic wave echo distribution, and subtracting the distribution which is obtained by standardizing an ultrasonic wave echo distribution before the injection with a specific echo reflected by the bottom surface of a surface member from the found ultrasonic echo distribution. CONSTITUTION:The thickness of the gap part 4 of the adhesion part between the surface member 1 and internal surface member 2 of the composite material is measured with an ultrasonic wave. At this time, the ultrasonic wave echo distribution after liquid through which an ultrasonic wave passes easily, e.g. pure water is injected into the gap part 4 is found. The distribution obtained by standardizing the ultrasonic echo distribution before the injection of the pure water 5 with the specific echo reflected by the bottom surface of the surface member 1 is subtracted from the ultrasonic wave echo distribution before the pure water 5 is injected to remove a noise echo characteristic to a probe 3, thereby extracting a target echo clearly. |
