A foldable container comprises two side walls 2 each having two sections 22, 23 foldable inwards onto the floor 3 of the container and a roof 1 which then falls onto the collapsed side walls 2. Between the roof 1 and the folded side walls 2 there is a space to accommodate two end walls 4 connected to the roof so that the container can be folded up to facilitate handling of an empty container. The side wall sections 22, 23 are joined by hinge arrangements including pivots 90, sealing members 95 and hook fasteners 94 biassed by resilient members 94 towards locked or unlocked positions. <IMAGE>
