<p>PURPOSE:To provide a balata cover ball having the improved initial speed and excellent flying distance by mixing a specified amount of inorganic single crystal fibers with a cover material having a trans-1,4-polyisoprene base. CONSTITUTION:A cover material has a base of trans-1,4-polyisoprene, while it may have various components added. For examples of additives are designated natural rubber, high styrene resin, zinc white, titanium oxide, vulcanizing accelerator, sulfur, etc. Such additives contain 100pts.wt. of trans-1,4-polyisoprene, 5-20pts.wt. of natural rubber, 5-20pts.wt. of high styrene resin, 1-10pts.wt. of zinc white 1-20pts.wt. of titanium oxide, 0.1-2pts.wt. of vulcanizing accelerator and 0.1-2pts.wt. of sulfur. This cover material is adapted to cover a thread wound core by various methods. Normally it is adapted to cover the core by a compression molding or the like. For example, it is compression molded by a press at 70-160 deg.C of temperature.</p> |
