A description is given of a method and an apparatus for automatically removing and distributing stacked sheet-like objects, which method makes use of a discharge device which has an endless circulating discharge conveyor belt having suction bores which become effective in the region of a vacuum box placed against the discharge conveyor belt and then hold sheet-like objects securely by suction force.
