Used as ointment base is either pig fat with admixed isopropyl alcohol, whey fat or more highly selected fat/cream on mineral basis. As additives, potassium iodide and camomile extract are admixed and thermally treated. For the treatment of psoriasis, the affected areas are cleaned with water and curd soap, the ointment is applied, and infrared irradiation is carried out. Finally, it is washed off again with water and curd soap, and dried.
