A sensor device is proposed for detecting the degree of wetting of a glass pane with drop-shaped precipitation. A radiation-conducting body connected to a radiation transmitter and a radiation receiver is arranged on the glass pane for the purpose of achieving a relatively simple design of low overall height. The said radiation-conducting body has a configuration in which the rays emitted by the radiation transmitter and the rays reflected at the glass pane respectively are deflected at least once by total reflection. The configuration is such that the emitted rays run almost parallel in the region of their entry into the radiation-conducting body and the reflected rays run almost parallel in the region of their exit from the radiation-conducting body. The radiation transmitter and the radiation receiver respectively are arranged on a common plate with their radiation entry and exit elements, respectively, in one plane and two radiation lenses are assigned, provided appropriately on the radiation-conducting body.
