Mechanical governor for an internal combustion engine with an adjustable torque-control device

In diesel engines an adjustment of the torque curve in accordance with different applications and the smoke limit of the engine is desirable. Furthermore, the torque curve varies from engine to engine due to the cumulative effect of manufacturing tolerances for injection system parts and governor components. The adjustable torque control is achieved by a deformation of a specially designed roller lever with a bending arm, it being possible to vary the bending axis by means of an adjustable lever arm on the torque-control lever, as a result of which, as the engine speed increases, the roller lever displaces the control rod of the injection pump in the direction of reduced fuel delivery. By means of an adjustable torque control on the governor, it is possible to correct the fuel injection quantity and to adjust the desired set torque curve. <IMAGE>
