[Also in Division C5] Fabrics are treated with a composition comprising a "water-soluble peroxide bleaching agent" (defined as a bleaching agent which yields hydrogen peroxide on dissolution in water) and a water-soluble alkyl or aryl chloroformate. Exemplified "peroxides" are sodium perborate, sodium percarbonate, and sodium persilicate. Preferred chloroformates are those in which R is methyl, ethyl, propyl, isobutyl or phenyl. Optional ingredients include anionic, non-ionic, cationic or amphoteric surfactants and alkaline detergency builders. |
