PURPOSE:To prevent an adjacent track interference by erasion width of an erasion head at the time of reproduction by separating and placing in order of each head of recording and reproduction in one track of a multi-track and separating and placing each head of recording and reproduction in order reverse to said order in its adjacent track so that bidirectional movement recording and reproduction can be executed. CONSTITUTION:An erasion head 3a', a recording head 1a' and a reproducing head 4a' are separated and placed from the right side of the lower stage of a head 1 in accordance with a track 20 of a recording medium 7, and in its upper part, an erasion head 5a', a recording head 1a'' and a reproducing head 2a' are separated and placed from the left side in accordance with an adjacent track 19. At the time of recording in the direction as indicated with an arrow 17, erasion is executed by 3a', recording is executed 1a' and reproduction and check are executed by 4a'. At the time of recording in the direction as indicated with an arrow 18, erasion is executed 5a', recording is executed by 1a'' and reproduction and check are executed by 2a'. In such a way, by separating completely the erasion/reproduction heads, an adjacent track interference by somewhat large erasion width can be prevented since the gap of the erasion/ reproduction heads is not common. |
