<p>A treatment chamber holds powder to be granulated by sprayed liq. while fluidised by air from a wind-chamber below a sieve base preventing leakage of solids. Below the sieve is a circular plate rotatable on a central holow shaft with internal feed lines from base terminals for pressurised air and the granulating liq. Radial slots in the plate define entrance zones for upwardly directed air-streams controlled by a spring-loaded valve. The sieve-base has vertical guide fins, of which every second fin reaches the rotor centre. The combined jets of liq. and air extend from elongated arms with variable pitch projecting radially from the hollow shaft, ink nozzles whose spacing decreases towards the outer chamber wall to aid uniform distribution The fins carry a circular support track for rollers mounted on the rotor.</p> |
