发明名称 LIQUID CRYSTAL ORIENTATION FILM AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT
摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a liquid crystal orientation film which does not generate domains and has >=3 deg. pretilt angle and a liquid crystal display element which is formed by using said film and has high display quality and high display capacity by using polyimide having a saturated ring structure of 6-10C as the orientation film. CONSTITUTION:If the polyimide having the saturated ring structure of 6-10C is used as the orientation film >=3 deg. pretilt angle is obtd., therefore, the domains are not generated at the time of driving. This polyimide is obtd. by bringing diamine and tetracarboxylic dianhydride into reaction to obtain the polyimide and subjecting this polyimide to dehydration ring closure by heating. The diamine or tetracarboxylic dianhydride having the saturated ring structure of 6-10C is used as the diamine or tetracarboxylic dianhydride to be used at this time. This tetracarboxylic dianhydride is preferably a cyclohexane ring and further the cyclohexane ring is preferably incorporated into the diamine component of the polyimide.
