PURPOSE:To improve the adhesive property and resistance to thermal stress of a plating layer by forming a porous region on the surface of a ceramic base material, electroless-plating the electrolytic materials having different contents of ceramic particles in stages, and then forming an Ni plating layer. CONSTITUTION:The porous layer 1a consisting of many closed cells 1b and having about 100mum depth is formed on the surface of the base material 1 consisting of zirconia, etc. A characteristic-gradient layer 4 consisting of plating layers 4a, 4b, and 4c each having about 5mu thickness is formed on the region 1a by electroless plating in the presence of a catalyst of Pb, etc., under the reduced-pressure conditions. The Ni plating solns., wherein the content of zirconia is gradually decreased, are used. An Ni film 5 having about 5mu thickness is formed on the layer 4 by electroless plating. By this method, a composite Ni-plated member with excellent adhesion between the base material 1 and the plating layer and having excellent resistance to thermal stress is obtained. |
