PURPOSE:To form a dye fixing element comprising a paper base having high light fastness by forming a specified oxygen shielding layer on the paper base and incorporating an antioxidizing agent into the layer. CONSTITUTION:An oxygen shielding layer having <=2ml/m<2>, hr, atm, oxygen permeability at 20 deg.C and at 40% relative humidity and contg. an antioxidant is formed on a paper base. The thickness of the oxygen shielding layer is pref. particularly 2-50mum. The binder for constituting the oxygen shielding layer is particularly pref. a copolymer having 20-80mol.% vinyl alcohol and 80-20mol.% ethylene. Preferred content of the antioxidant in the dye fixing element is 0.1-2g/m<2>. Thus, discoloration of a color image on a heat-developed transferred dye fixing element is prevented. |
