PURPOSE:To contrive smoothening of a paper-supplying operation, by counting the number of engaging holes of a paper which have passed, through counting pins of a paper-feeding sprocket, and issuing a paper run-out alarm when the counted number of holes coincides with a preset value. CONSTITUTION:When a paper feeding sprocket 2 is rotated, pins 2a engaged with engaging holes 1a are brought into intermittent contact with the tip of a contact element 5. The passage of the hole 1a is detected by an engaging hole passage detector 6, which outputs a pulse from a fixed contact 6a. The number of the pulses is counted by a counting circuit 7, and the counted number is converted into the number of sheets of printer paper 1 by a paper sheet number converting circuit 8. A coincidence circuit 10 compares the number of sheets used with an alarming sheet number preset on an alarming sheet number setter 9, and when both numbers coincide with each other, the circuit 10 outputs an alarm instruction signal to an alarm generating circuit 11. |
