<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a plating layer from peeling eliminating the generation of noise and the increase of steering torque by providing the hard quality metal plating layer on a surface of divided slip rings and placing a surface of the layer in a level equal to a surface of an insulating substrate. CONSTITUTION:When a steering wheel turns its ring part, the point end of a contact pin 7, protruded to the upper and bottom from a boss plate 3, slides plating layers 13, 17 and insulating substrates 10, 15. However, no step difference is provided because the plating layers 13, 17 form their surface in an equal level to the surface of the insulating substrates 10, 15, and the contact pin 7 smoothly moves, enabling the generation of noise due to collision and the increase of steering torque to be suppressed. While a slip ring, formed by copper, is coated with the plating layers 13, 17 of hard quality metal and prevented from wearing, because a connection part is intruded into the insulating substrates 10, 15, the plating layers 13, 17 can be prevented from exfoliating their end part from the divided slip ring.</p> |
