A system of joining two parts consisting of two identical elements (10) which are made up of a base (8) on which are a series of equi-spaced ribs (16). On the top of the ribs are horizontal lips (17,18) which are elastically deformable. In the joining of the two parts (10), an element is inverted so that the lips face each other and the lips (17,18) are forced between the narrow gaps (20) of the other element and, as the material is pliable, the lips are able to deform and enter into the space between the ribs. Once in this space, the lips are able to take up their original shape and clip the two elements together. By pulling at the ends of the two elements (10), the two halves can be progressively separated.
