The arm-rest (1) has a support (7) which moves in a slide (14) and has two axles (4) whose free ends are curved in the quarter of a circle. These cooperate with a plate (22) which is joined to a foldable part which pivots on the axles. The plate slides on shafts (8) which are joined by an axle (6) which crosses through the support's axles and cylinders (5). The plate's movement is limited by circlips (10) and it is held against these by springs (21). The folding part is blocked and unblocked by the movement of the plate. USE/ADVANTAGE - The arm-rest is retractable without having to remove it from its support.
