The valve body (1), inside the inflatable body, has a conical flange (9) tightened against the skin (2) by a similarly conical flanged nut (7) screwed on to the body extension (8). The body has a hub (12) with a screwed rim (13), spokes (16) and a boss (14). Through the boss, a valve-stem (17) holds a closure plate (18) against the end surface of the body by means of a spring (19). The closure at this point is only partial to allow air pressure to reach an optional manometer. A cap (22) is held down by bayonet-locking over the spokes. It seals off the body by an O-ring (24) in the cone mouth (25). USE/ADVANTAGE - E.g. for inflatable boats. Separates the functions of sealing around the hole in the skin and that of preventing air-loss through the valve mechanism. Allows manometer to be flush-fitted in cap.
