The method, wherein the pad has a back plate (7) and a lining on the back plate molded by heating and pressing granules and formed of a plurality of different lining portions (8,9) which are secured to a plurality of areas (10a, 10b, 10c) of one surface of the back plate, comprises charging granules (15, 16) for the respective lining portions into areas which are defined in a molding frame (11) by partitioning plates (13, 14) so as to correspond to the said areas of the back plate, removing the partitioning plates from the molding frame, subjecting the granules in the molding frame to a pressing treatment in which the granules are pressed against the back plate which is disposed so as to close an opening end of the molding frame, subiecting the granules also to a heating treatment, and securing the molded lining portions to the back plate surface. <IMAGE>
