POLARIZABLE ELECTRODE AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform, highly durable polarizable electrode with high energy density by sintering a mixture of activated carbon and an inorganic binder involving glass into a pallet, and providing a conductive layer on one surface of the same. CONSTITUTION:A polarizable electrode 1 comprises a mixture of an inorganic binder at least involving glass and an activated carbon. A conductive layer is formed on the surface of the electrode 1. The glass is of a low melting point. Hereby, activated carbon density in the electrode 1 is increased with reduced resistance and increased energy density. Thus, uniform highly durable polarizable electrode with high energy density is assured.
