PURPOSE:To promote growth of animals, by containing a polyether based antibiotic substance and sodium polyacrylate in a composition. CONSTITUTION:A composition for oral administration to animals obtained by blending 1 pt.wt. polyether based antibiotic substance (e.g., monensin) with 1-400 pts.wt. sodium polyacrylate. The resultant composition is then mixed in an animal feed consisting of grains, vegetable oil cakes, chaffs ana brans, meats and bones, whey, etc., and the resultant feed is orally and continuously administered to animals so as to provide >=0.1mg/kg dose expressed in terms of the polyether based antibiotic substance. |
