Fitting for windows or doors, comprising a rosette which is to be fastened on the window sash or door leaf and has a handle which is mounted rotatably thereon and serves to actuate a closure arranged in the window sash or in the door leaf. The handle neck is mounted rotatably on a bearing shaft, which is in connection with the closure and is mounted in the rosette, and can be coupled in a rotationally fixed manner to the bearing shaft by means of an adjustable locking bar which can be actuated preferably by a lock cylinder, the bearing shaft being assigned an arresting means which secures said bearing shaft against rotation with respect to the rosette and can be transferred into the release position by means of the locking bar, when the latter is transferred into the coupling position which connects the handle in a rotationally fixed manner to the bearing shaft.
