Process and apparatus for producing coat-hangers and a coat-hanger produced thereby

A process for producing coat-hangers, which are formed by a core corresponding to the contour of the hanger, a covering partially enclosing the said core and a hanging hook, is proposed, which opens up a wide range of possibilities in terms of design and styling. In the case of this process, the core is produced with undersize in comparison with the final contour of the hanger at the edges determining its contour and, subsequently, a strip of plastic is applied by injection-moulding or foaming as a covering, the said strip engaging in the form of a U over the edges of the core along the corresponding contour. If appropriate, panels may be placed onto the visible faces of the core, these likewise being engaged over by the strip in the form of a U and fastened by the latter on the core.
