In a drum filter, according to the invention the filter surface is enlarged by at least two screen drums being concentrically arranged one inside the other and forming an annular space between each other. This annular space is connected to the filtrate outlet, at the same time it being ensured that the annular space is only accessible, for the liquid to be filtered, through the screen coverings.
