Device to enable, in an air-conditioned room, part of the heat exchange between the supply air and the people in the room by means of radiation. In air-conditioning plants of known design and mode of operation, the heat exchange between the supply air and the people in the room takes place, according to regulations, exclusively by convection, even though people emit up to two-thirds of their body heat by radiation to the solid room-enclosing surfaces. By installing additional radiation surfaces in rooms to be air-conditioned, the heat-exchange mechanism is adapted to the physiological requirements of the people and hence the acceptance of air-conditioning plants is improved. This is achieved according to the invention by the additional installation of heat exchangers in the rooms to be air-conditioned, through which supply air flows and enters the room from the heat exchanger.
